NELLIE G - Designed by Huckins Yacht Corporation and built by Olsen marine on Cape Cod. She is the last boat built to this design.

When building NELLIE G, Olsen Marine worked with the owner to redesign this hull to have an inboard/outboard setup instead of the original design (Hull no.1) which used a straight shaft setup. Combined with the addition of a bow thruster, this configuration has made the boat easier and safer to be operated by one person. Her topsides are finished with a stunning Flag Blue navy Awlgrip and the interior is graced with bright Ultrasuede cushions.  Nellie G was repowered in 2014 with twin 370HP Yanmars that each have less than 250 hrs as of January 2021. She has been lovingly taken care of by her original owner since her build in 2004. She is kept under cover every winter in the same building where she was built, and maintained regardless of cost by her original build team. During the summer months she is stored on a custom lift that keeps her out of the water when not in use.

What is unique about this particular boat is that she is constructed of double planked mahogany below the waterline and covered in 12 oz fibreglass cloth on the inside and outside.

From the water line to her gunnels she is glassed on the exterior and epoxy coated on the inside. Her decks and cabin house are made from a lightweight foam core and vacuum bagged to save  weight.

DESCRIPTION

Starting from the swim platform and moving into the the cockpit via a centre opening transom door, you will notice an engine box on either side that double as aft cockpit seating or for sunbathing at anchor. Continuing forward to port, there is seating for 6 people comfortably around a mahogany table which can be used for drinks or opened up for a full dinner service. Built into the back of the co-pilot seat is a bar plus two Sub Zero drawer fridges with ample storage for both food and drink. A buffet table is attached to the back of the cockpit seating for added surface area. While not in use, it stores under the seating on the port side.

The entire cabin house has newer eisenglass on both the sides and back. The canvas can quickly be removed for that perfect summer evening cruise and just as easily put back in place to make the entire seating and helm area warm and cozy when running home at 25 plus kts.

There is storage down both sides of the cabin house including under the cockpit floor.

The helm has state of the art electronics including Flir night vision, VHF, bow thruster controls, and two 12-inch hybrid Raymarine chartplotters. There is even a third chartplotter to port for the co-pilot to keep an eye on the course.

Two steps take you down into the cabin. To port is a full galley with a 2-burner propane stove, a microwave and beautiful, lightweight countertops. There is ample storage for all your food and cooking utensils for that cruise you have always dreamed off.

To starboard is a spacious head that includes a sink recessed into the same lightweight countertop as found in the galley, a 12v Raritan flush toilet, and a shower on the aft bulkhead.

ACCOMMODATION

Moving forward there is a large double bunk off to starboard with sleeping for 2 people and to port there is a hanging locker along with ample drawer space.

DECK

Back on deck, wide side decks and custom hand holds along the cabin house take you to the foredeck. Varnished toe rails run down both sides of the boat which match the bowsprit and transom cap rail.

For anchoring there is a custom built mahogany bow sprit with a 12v windlass and a 35lb anchor with over 150ft of chain and rode.
