The Kettenburg K-40 is 40' overall and carries 5000 lbs of lead ballast in her keel which is bronze bolted to her keel timber. She is constructed of 7/8" Philippine mahogany planks over steam bent oak frames. 10'4"' beam, 5'4"" draft. Sail area 556 square feet.
