Paradox is a US Documented 42' gaff-rigged ketch. She was built 1972 - 1976 in Homestead, FL, by a master welder at the Turkey Point nuclear power plant. Her hull is made of Corten Steel, with a shallow draft of 4'. The interior is constructed of teak and yellow cypress. She was designed to be a world cruiser that can safely handle blue water conditions. Her shallow draft and low mast height makes her able to go places others can not. When Paradox was last hauled in December, 2019, we had her hull sandblasted, and it was in excellent condition. Her bottom was coated with 2 coats of epoxy undercoat and 3 coats of Interlux paint. We also painted the topsides, deck and cabin - everything but the masts. We have owned her for 9 years and hate to part with her, but age and grandchildren have brought us to this decision. If interested, or have questions, please call me (Gene) for a complete description.

Additional information:
After Kelly Wilkerson built Paradox in the 1970,s, he lived on her and sailed her around Miami and the Florida Keys for 14 years. In 1990, Kelly trucked Paradox to Missouri, and built a barn around her, where she stayed for 22 years. During that time, he made several upgrades, such as a new 50 HP Perkins diesel engine, new refrigerator, new propane stove, and new cabin top. We are the second owners of Paradox. When we bought her, we added a new AC, Purasan sewage treatment system, Garmin GPS, and a battery charger/monitoring system.
